An engagement framework to help colleagues embrace transformation

Ardagh Group is a leading global supplier of metal and glass packaging solutions for food and drink brand owners around the world. It operates in 16 countries, employing more than 20,000 people, with annual sales of over $9 billion.

In response to a rapidly evolving marketplace and a cyber-attack that significantly disrupted its global packaging production, Ardagh Group launched a new IT Operating Model in August 2023 to make its IT organisation more resilient, scalable, and sustainable. This complex global transformation required an equally bold and clear multi-year campaign to engage all colleagues, regardless of their role or location, in the transition to this new approach to IT delivery.

We collaborated closely with Ardagh’s communications team to ideate, shape, and refine the IT narrative that needed to be communicated, ensuring it was delivered in a consistent, compelling, and actionable manner.

Key outputs included a structured communications roadmap, detailed messaging frameworks tailored to various colleague personas, powerful stakeholder narratives, and editable presentation tools and templates to facilitate the cascading of messaging throughout the global organisation, all complemented by inspiring creative design.

To ensure a smooth transition, we also provided strategic support and guidance to Ardagh’s internal communications team, equipping them to engage the global workforce in this journey and to execute the wide-ranging, ambitious campaign over the coming months and years.
